72 Hour Emergency Exercise at Dover Air Force Base Begins Today

DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. – The 436th Airlift Wing will conduct a 72-hour base-wide major accident response exercise here August 20-22 to test the wing’s ability to quickly respond.

The exercise will be conducted within the base and its training areas and include the participation of local law enforcement and emergency management teams. All base personnel will participate and visitors on base during the exercise could be treated as participants.

Normal base operations and services will be affected throughout the exercise, to include closures and delays at the gates, the base exchange/gas station, commissary, pharmacy, medical clinic, post office, and other units across the base.

Individuals who experience an actual emergency or incident during the exercise should continue to report to the appropriate on- or off-base agencies. Base leadership’s priority is ensuring the safety of base personnel and members of the surrounding communities.
